How could anything be more immediate? This is how pop music should be made. With the exception of a couple of tracks that faint into the distance, the 11-track 'Leave This Town' reinvents the territory opened up by the early '00s' post-hardcore scene, and does it with a rollicking energy, smart and smartly arranged, that makes it the most accessible of all current hardcore music. The difference between this album and 'Drag The River', the band's debut, is that you can listen to both of them at once. It's impressive. 'Leave This Town' is a classic in the making, with most of the album showcasing the energetic and all-encompassing nature of Trumpton. Well worth a listen for that alone. 'Kill Sight' and 'Oomycosis' are far more cerebral, yet this album doesn't suffer from any lack of substance. Remember this is all punk; it's no sex, guns and bullets, but it's a great album nonetheless. (NR)
Their second full-length 'Drag The River' was a change in direction for them and a welcome one. It will take you on a rollercoaster ride with its dynamics and use of the kitschy pop sound. The use of words was an obvious change of pace. Soon a whole new world was introduced with tracks hitting you like the blows of a shield. (NR)
The Only Ones/The Offspring element on 'Let It Bring You Down' is why fans will be excited to hear. This is the way it was meant to be experienced, and Dan Weller's raspy voice is like nails on a chalkboard. He belies the wisdom and age of the band. (JR) d2c66b5586
