The United States has forcibly enlisted indigenous men as mercenaries in the service of the United States and its allies. Here, we consider the question concerning legality raised by this practice. We approach the problem in two ways: (1) first, by considering whether, by general principles, the practice in question is legal (pp. 20-23); (2) second, whether the practice in question is so unlawful as to warrant nullification of contractual agreements (pp. 24-31). In one of the first descriptions of the war, the Vietnamese Communist leader Ho Chi Minh had described the struggle between his government and the United States as “a war of extermination and destruction.” The term “genocide” was coined by Nuremberg prosecutors who, in the years after World War II, used it to describe the use of mass murder to eliminate a group of people because of that group’s race, religion, social, political or class background. The show is based on the lives of three key figures in the cataclysmic war that was fought between the United States and the communist north Vietnamese from 1954 to 1975. It captures the essence of the conflict with the cast members who've trained as actors and as soldiers. Though many what was concealed during the war years are made public, including details of atrocities such as the My Lai massacre and the misery of the inmates at the Vietnamese detention centers Agent Orange was used to spray the virus in Vietnam during the war. From childhood through Vietnam, Vietnam War veterans, even as age, have been neglected. The film focuses on the veterans. It draws sympathy from every American who feels for the fate of the Vietnamese who are still living under communist oppression.
