Note: I developed these worksheets for a Mathletics.org course, but the worksheets themselves are not affiliated with Mathletics. Although they are geared toward students who have taken my pre-algebra and algebra 1 courses, these worksheets are useful for any course you offer.
Mathletics.org subscribers can access their worksheets and the full mathletics library via web links. Click here for more information. Students can also email me to request permission to print and use their worksheets.
There is a couple of things I’d like to point out about these worksheets. First, they are not meant to be homework sheets. They are meant for instruction and practice. Second, I’d like to encourage you to be creative. The worksheets are customizable. You can use them with any situation or concept you want. For example, if you are teaching about average speed, you can use the worksheets to teach about safe speed, typical speed, and average speed. Or, if you are teaching about time, you can use the worksheets to talk about average time, typical time, and average time. (Students could also use them to talk about how long it takes to get from one place to another.) So, please be creative and have fun with them!
These worksheets are appropriate for grades 6-9, but you can make them about any distance, time, or speed you want. For example, you could use them to teach about averages or about how fast a car needs to go to get from one place to another. Or you could use them to teach about times tables.
The worksheets are designed to be easy to use and to provide an introduction to systems of linear equations and inequalities, so you don't need to worry about teaching the concepts behind these problems.
Please send applications or suggestions on how to improve worksheets to me at bfeuster@zola.com . Please include a copy of your publications in the application and a list of what you have done for the Actrade Worksheets website. Thank you!
The chorus in the play is made up of the dead souls of Eurydice and Haemon. The chorus comments on what they see, and how they feel about what they see. In Ruhl's play, they are represented by figures of different colors. The actors representing the chorus appear on stage in full color, and the ones representing the dead appear as black and white figures. This creates a striking image of the dead and the living.
The chorus comments on the play, and the gods, a group of deities who took an interest in the characters. The chorus comments on Creon and his actions, and the people of Thebes. The chorus also comments on some of the more bizarre aspects of the play, such as the fact that the dead have to be buried in pairs, and the fact that Creon decides to bury his dead wife and son not once but twice. The chorus also comments on what it sees onstage, but they also comment on what it is really like backstage. The chorus comments on all aspects of the play, not just the performance itself. 827ec27edc
