Kratos travels with his son and fellow Spartan and his lover Penelope to Olympus to free his wife from jail. They are later joined by Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom and Kratos' mentor. Kratos frees the Titans from the Underworld, and later battles each Titan.[9] Kratos gains the company of the other Greek gods on the journey to the Underworld and battles Poseidon for the soul of Kratos' daughter to prevent him from taking her back to the Underworld. Kratos gains the companionship of Zeus, Poseidon, and Zeus' mother. Kratos battles the three Judges of the Underworld, who are responsible for all of Kratos' Spartan retributions, and face the monsters of the Underworld, including the giant Centaur; the Elm of Rhea; the Kraken, who is also controlled by Zeus; Cottus, a Cyclops; the Minotaur, who is controlled by Poseidon; the Minotaurs and Nereids of the Oceanus; the Seven Against Thebes, twice as large as all the other monsters and controlled by Hades; and Limbo, who is Kratos' and the Giants' mortal enemy. Kratos frees his daughter and the King of the Underworld, Calliope, now Hades' wife, from Hades' lair. Charon, a boat driver for the Underworld, takes the souls of the dead to the Underworld. Kratos reunites with his brother and learns the truth of the Titans, such as the Colossus which was built to destroy one of the Twelve Olympian Gods and an ancient feud between Zeus and Poseidon, the Titans, and the Giants was the result. Kratos learns that he was made "by a god" and is not mortal and fights his sibling Deimos. Deimos has a new plan to restore the Titans and kill the Gods of Olympus. Kratos defeats Deimos and explains his plan to stop him. The Gods and the Titans begin to take peace as they have done for years and are content within the palace on Mount Olympus. Kratos and Athena go home with their families, while Kratos leads his brother's followers to Mount Ossa before going home. The game concludes with Kratos sacrificing himself to become the God of War to save Athena. He falls from the mountain, and the gods cry and grieve for him. The gods decide to hold a feast to celebrate his sacrifice and resurrect him. d2c66b5586
